About the Workshop:

The workshop's core purpose is to move beyond traditional teaching methods by providing practical, hands-on strategies that actively engage students. The ultimate goal is to significantly enhance the student learning experience, leading to improved information retention and the development of crucial critical thinking skills.

To achieve this, the workshop theme is broken down into several key areas:

• Understanding the "Why": It starts by defining active learning, outlining its key principles, and presenting the benefits for both students and teachers. It directly contrasts the traditional classroom with an active learning environment to highlight the advantages and address common misconceptions.

• Providing Concrete Strategies: The theme is highly practical, focusing on a variety of specific techniques educators can use. These include group work, case studies, problem-based learning, simulations, role-playing, games, and discussion methods like Think-Pair-Share.
